Lets grow some vegetables! In collaboration with the Natural History Museum, we will be hosting a sustainable gardening workshop at the library. Learn about the different types of containers used for growing vegetables, the best soil mediums, drainage, soil nutrition, how to transplant vegetables, and more! Participants will get to take home a ten gallon grow bag filled with soil and veggies that they’ve planted themselves.

Explore amigurumi patterns! Amigurumi, or “working in the round,” is a specific method of crocheting often used for making stuffed animals and other 3-dimensional objects.

Learn crochet stitches utilized when working in the round, such as increase stitches and decrease stitches, as well as how to read and follow a written pattern.

It’s Anime time! Join local Downey artist Taryn Lee in this anime drawing workshop where you’ll learn how to draw portraits using proportion, perspective, and shading in easy-to-follow ways, as well as how to illustrate a variety of anime expressions.
