Sewing Machine Basics - Wednesday Sessions

Join us for this 3-part workshop series where you will learn how to operate a sewing machine, including use of basic tools, learning the different parts of the machine, understanding sewing terminology and practicing simple pattern cutting. By the end of the third session, you will have a completed project to take home!

This class will be taught by Sharon White and Virgina Yoshiyama, volunteers from the Friends of the Downey City Library. Together, they have many years of experience. Sharon designs and sews some of her own clothes, and has taught sewing classes previously at her church. Virgina learned to sew in Junior High and recently helped her granddaughter sew a cosplay outfit for Anime LA.

This class is intended for adults (18+) with no prior sewing experience.

This is a 3-part workshop series. Signing up means you intend to attend all three sessions. This sessions takes place on Wednesday, March 13th, 20th and 27th from 6pm-8pm.

Please visit the Workshop’s page to register. You can also stop by the Library and staff can help you get registered, or give us a call at (562) 904-7360 for assistance.
